An excellent job opportunity in Brisbane has become available within a highly respected organisation within the mining sector. From the current success within business there has been a need for a highly skilled Financial Accountant to join this dynamic team.

About the Role
You primary focus will be within the Shared Services Finance Division. Your day to day duties will include

- Producing accurate monthly and annual financial accounts.
- Develop and maintain an effective system of internal controls.
- Design, implement and maintain standard systems and procedures.
- Maintain financial ledger.
- Ensure that operational and capital expenditure is requested and authorized.
- Monitor system driven cost allocation process.

You will be schooled in the fundamentals of financial accounting and your systems knowledge will be extensive which will be supplemented with your ability to assimilate knowledge in a complex environment.

Skills / Requirements

To be considered for this role you will need to meet the following requirements
- 3 years experience in financial accounting and reporting at an accountant level
- Tertiary qualifications in Accounting
- Sound understanding of modern accounting standards and regulations.
- Experience in maintaining a sound internal control environment.
- CPA qualifications will be highly regarded but not essential.
- Experience within Mining, Construction or Engineering is essential.
